We felt we needed a little extra help with heat this year so opted for a mobile has heater. This does the job perfectly but one word of warning, gas bottles are hard to come by. We tried many places, even ebay and FB marketplace before finding one in our shed!!! Don't ask. Anyway, perfect little heater, warms a room in no time at all and very easy to put together and move around.
Delivery was 10 out of 10. Ordered on a Thursday night, arrived Saturday morning. Really impressed.
No hassle ordering on line, very clear website.
Definitely recommend.

Lovely, good quality heater. I brought two of them, 1 x white and 1 x Black.
Unfortunately when the Black was delivered the pilot light was not staying on.
Had exchange. Return and delivery was spot on.
Got these in case of electricity outage and for my Dad, who is 94 years old, for a spot of extra heat and also incase electric outage.
There is a shortage of new Calor Butane bottles, as they say they are not giving any new ones out (as at November 2022, unless you already have them. Have got a yellow one that works just the same.

What a fantastic heater! Not only does it look good, especially with the log effect when it’s lit, it gives out really great heat, and heats the room very quickly. Also it is so much more modern and stylish looking than the traditional portable gas heaters. Was kept updated at all times from leisureshopdirect on delivery date. Highly recommend!!

It looks stunning and is very effective at heating up our large open plan lounge/dining room. The first 4 hours of use has a pungent smell but once burnt off it is great. We use a 7kg cylinder to make portability easier.

The Manhattan gas heater is very easy to use and gives out tremendous heat, I could have got cheaper but not better!

The Manhattan is such a step up from the “old” style of LPG heaters. It looks smart, it feels solid and it pumps out the heat. The log effect is very realistic and it has already received lots of comments from visitors. It fires up easily and all the controls are hidden beneath a hinged lid. What is not to like?!

Not cold enough to use for any length of time to date, however I have lit it for a trial period and I am well satisfied with the performance.
The heater is well constructed, easy to move around with the weight of a full butane bottle (doesn’t flex or distort). I chose to use a 13kg Flo gas supply and the bottle fits into the heater perfectly, not too sure if the 15kg Calor gas alternative would fit as neatly. Overall, the unit is pleasing to the eye and I am not expecting any problems with performance or safety.

It’s a nice looking heater which runs on bottled butane gas. It’s slimmer than usual so a bit of a tight fit to get the 13kg bottle in but it does go. Heat output is good and should be fairly cheap to run …

Bought this to use in my kitchen/orangery, was a bit concerned whether it would heat the large room with a large glass roof but I have to say it’s perfect, at the moment, it heats the room well and looks great, not too big and easy to move about, excellent buy from an excellent seller.

I first purchased a manhattan heater in 2012 and I have just replaced it with the updated version purely for safety peace of mind as the old heater was lookin a bit tired and you can no longer get them serviced easily. The new version is a bit more cheaply made than the origional but still a good looking heater and the logs are a nice addition. A bit expensive but if this heater lasts as long as my old one it will be worth the money

The heater works very well, a little bit less heat than a standard heater but does the job. Purchased as a good looking heater. I like it for the looks. For the first hour or so it may set your fire alarm off as some of the paint cook’s then it’s fine. Happy customer. The glass front was cracked on arrival but was soon replaced thanks to leasure shop.

Having used the old style gas heaters for a while I decided to try the Manhattan as it had some good reviews.I can honestly say they are a much better and more efficient unit and give us that boost to the heating we have been missing.

Manhattan heater gives excellent heat, looks modern and sleeker than our old traditional calor heater. Fits well in our small conservatory. Initially steams up windows but soon clears when warmed up.
Delivery was very prompt-arrived day after ordered.

The best purchase I’ve ever made regarding heating my 17 x 13 foot kitchen. It heats up quickly and is a very smart addition in keeping with my decor. Also, the heat is felt through to my lounge in a short time. Undoubtedly a great saving on using the central heating throughout when mainly using these downstairs rooms. Recommended to all. The customer service was first class in assisting to set up with a simple issue.

Disliked: flame flickers quite fast. Was hoping for a more lazy flame like my mains gas fire but maybe that isn't possible with Calor gas(?)

Safety Issue:
This unit has undergone stringent safety and performance tests before leaving the factory, signed by inspector number 3. Trouble is they forgot to put the jubilee clips on the flexible gas pipe. The instructions also states, and I quote: You must leak test the unit before the first use, and every time the gas cylinder is changed, it goes on to say mix 50% water 50% soap and apply the soap to all areas and look for bubbles. I think the above statement might put a few people off but i feel the quality control should be reviewed at Universal Innovations, I know they are only covering their backsides with the,: you check it policy: but its a bit off putting.
Other than that its not a bad fire and it throws out a fair bit of heat.

Needed to replace old gas heater that had failed and decided to go for something that looked a lot better. Very pleased with the Manhatton Contempory portable gas fire so far and it heats my conservatory and kitchen with ease (area 25 sq mtrs)and rarely use the maximum setting.

We purchased this gas heater for use in our conservatory. We received emails giving the delivery date and on the actual delivery day were given an hour slot which was handy. It arrived when stated, the user instructions were easy to understand and it was easy to assemble. We like the coal effect and it makes our conservatory warm and cosy. We are extremely pleased with our purchase from Leisureshop Direct who had the best price and provided free delivery.

We required a stove to heat our conservatory which the Manhattan Stove does extremely well. It looks modern so fits in with our style of house. Delivery service was prompt. My only comment would be that in the instructions when it tells you how to turn the stove off, although it does state you should switch off the gas supply, I think it should state if you do this the fire will remain alight on a low heat. However overall delighted with the product.

Bought to keep the glass roofed conservatory warm in the winter. The heater needed only minimal effort to get into working condition.(fit the coals and gas bottle) I have test run the heater and it does a good job of providing the heat,just waiting now for a cold snap!

Great little heater, easy to setup and use I just wish the full flame effect was a little better. On full power the flames just reach the top of the coals. Still it's a nice looking unit and heats my space very well.

I bought this Manhattan stove to heat a very cold conservatory and let the heat flow into the kitchen as we have storage heaters that are not very controllable. It does exactly what I wanted it to. My conservatory is cosy with no condensation, and so is the kitchen, and because you pay for the gas upfront there are no shocking bills. It is very simple to connect and operate, heat is instant and controllable. I am very happy with my purchase and the service from Leisure Direct is first class, excellent communication, very fast delivery, good price.

This item arrived really quickly, just a few days after my order. I was informed of delivery date and time (and driver's name!) by text - great service. The heater is really lovely - it looks great and its contemporary design fits in perfectly in our modern home. It was bought for use in our large kitchen with tiled floor which can be chilly in winter. The 3kw output has boosted the temperature in this room - lovely and cozy now!!
