Living the caravan life can be really exciting and extremely rewarding, creating beautiful memories with family and friends and an inflatable caravan awning definitely only adds to your travel experiences. Whether you live in your caravan full time, use it for summer long holidays or just adventure away for occasional weekends, an inflatable air awning offers tonnes of benefits. Here at Leisureshopdirect, …………, we have a huge array of inflatable air awnings that you can attach to the outside of your caravan, doubling your living space for relaxing, playing, sleeping or for extra storage. Although caravan life is great fun, even the most contented campers can begin to feel a bit cooped up, all in the caravan together, so the extra space provided by an inflatable air awning allows everyone to spread out in comfort. These caravan air awnings can offer significant weight savings compared to conventional poled versions, having few, if any, poles. It is no wonder that they have taken the market by storm over recent years. Let’s have a closer look at some market leading caravan air awnings from top brands like Vango, Dometic Kampa, Isabella, Summerline and Quest. What makes Vango Caravan Air Awnings so suitable for touring?
So, imagine yourself travelling to a long-awaited destination with your caravan in tow, pitching up late afternoon and being able to put up your awning in a super-fast time so that you can sit back and take in the beautiful scenery with a cup of tea in hand. Well, this is what owning an inflatable air awning allows you to do! Air awnings are significantly easier to erect than poled awnings, with some having one single inflation point, there isn’t much manual work to do whilst erecting. This can really benefit caravanners who are less able and would struggle to put up a poled awning. Air awnings are also very convenient for campers travelling alone, or families with young children, needing one parent to keep a constant close eye, as they can usually be put up by one person. A very popular caravan air awning is the Vango Tuscany Air 400 Elements Pro Shield Caravan Awning. It has a pitching time of about 18 minutes, which is really impressive, considering in every detail it is a market leading awning. It is crafted with Vango’s innovative fabric, the Elements Pro Shield, which is highly waterproof and able to withstand extreme weather conditions, as it is a super strong 300 denier. It has a very luxurious look and feel. It has Vango’s ColorLok technology, meaning it is more resistant to the sunlight, keeping its colour longer. If you would like to find out about Vango’s fabric range in more detail the read our blog, Vango Sentiel Fabric Range Explained.
The Vango Tuscany Air 400 Caravan Awning has multifunctional doors and is a great touring awning as it lends itself perfectly for quick and easy use as it is very suitable for repeated pitching at any time of the year. It has diamond clear windows that really maximise the light and visibility of surroundings, creating a lovely airy feel. Although, you can also have full privacy in the mornings and evenings if you so wish, due to the very adaptable zipped curtains. The pre-angled beams give great head height inside and enable you to use the space right up to the edges. The Vista front windows and its very distinctive curved shape, make it a very luxurious, contemporary and versatile caravan awning! Why are Vango Caravan Air Awnings so quick and easy to pitch up?
Why not be the envy of the caravan site by inflating your awning in a matter of minutes! Don’t waste your holiday time, but sit back, relax and be amused, watching other couples struggle with older style poled awnings! The Vango Tuscany Air 400 Caravan awnings boast Vango’s Airbeam technology, which uses inflatable tubes instead of poles, making awnings much more easily pitched by one person in a matter of minutes. When on the campsite, this super strong, rigid structure gives you the peace of mind that the English unpredictable weather won’t ruin your holiday. Bracer Beams are also included, which are designed to fit in between the awnings AirBeams to really enhance the overall awning stability in high winds. The Tuscany also has SuperBeams, which are larger diameter beams that provide additional structure and stability to your awning. All Vango’s AirAwning caravan awnings are wind tunnel tested to 100kmph, so you can be sure your home away from home will keep you safe and dry whatever the weather. Also, the loops at then end of the kador strips not only aid threading when attaching the awning to your caravan, but can also be hooked to pads to minimise movement of your awning along the rail in strong winds.
The Vango Tuscany 400 caravan air awning also boasts AirSpeed® technology which is a further refinement to the Vango AirBeam® system. It consists of a revolutionary S.I single point, easy to attach, valve point, located quite high on the awning which makes attaching the pump easier and definitely helps to reduce back ache! You literally attach the pump to one valve on the awning and inflate it from there. This AirSpeed Valve makes inflating and deflating your AirBeam awning really quick and effortless…………….leaving you the maximum holiday time to frolic with your family and friends!Which Vango Caravan Air Awnings are very lightweight?
If you are looking for a slightly smaller caravan air awning then the Vango Balletto Air 260 Elements Shield Caravan Awning is definitely worth investigating. It is made from Vango’s Elements Shield fabric, which is strong and durable and as it is 150D it is very lightweight, whilst still highly waterproof, it performs well in all weather conditions. Air awnings are generally lighter in weight compared to similar sized steel poled awnings, meaning they are much more convenient to pack away and store at home. Since many caravanners like to stow their awnings in their caravan whilst towing, they can use up a lot of your caravan’s payload, so the lighter the awning the better! Also, Caravan Air awnings, like the Vango Balletto Air 260, are much less likely to damage and scrape your caravan in windy, stormy weather than poled awnings and you don’t need to worry about the children wanting to help pitch up, as no poles means they can’t scratch themselves or your beloved home away from home. If you like the sound of this lighter weight caravan air awning, but would like more space then take a look at the Vango Balletto Air 330 Elements Shield Caravan awning or the Vango Baletto Air 390 Elements Shield Caravan Awning. Also, Vango offer this Balletto range in their even stronger fabric the Elements Pro Shield material, like the Vango Balletto Air Elements Proshield Caravan Awning. If you are not worried about it weighing a bit more, then the Vango Elements Proshield range of air caravan awnings will give you that extra peace of mind that your loved ones will be safe and dry in all the conditions the unpredictable British weather might throw at you. What is the Vango Draught Seal System?
The Vango Baletto Air Caravan awnings, as do all the Vango Caravan Air awnings, also have Vango’s innovative Draught Seal System, DSS, that creates a tight seal between the awning and your caravan, without the use of poles, which can easily cause damage. This DSS means that no draughts come into your awning, whilst removing the need for poles. Firstly, you need to secure the foam pads against your caravan and awning. You then unclip the bottom section of the webbing strap and feed it onto the lower kador rail. Feed it through the awning slit onto the inside and buckle it to the top half of the Draught Seal Strap. You then need to adjust the tension of the strap and roughly place the tension triangles where you think they need to be. In both corners, a soft pad is there and pressed in place by these adjustable triangle-shaped soft wedges. You can manipulate these wedges, up or down and adjust the angle to mould the padded seal around windows or press flush against the flat part of your caravan's wall. Then, simply tighten the Draught Seal strap and finally fold around and secure the Draught Seal cover with the hook and loop pads. It really is a great new system, that works brilliantly, is very robust and actually looks very neat, when the Draught Seal cover is in place. Brilliantly, these are fitted as standard in all the Vango Caravan awnings!
