The Very Best

Discovery Mk 3 towing an 8’ wide caravan.
Excelllent fit. Secure. A previous standard width Grand Aero pair of mirrors have lasted 12 years of heavy use without problem. I attach retaining cords loosely in case one did fall off - better for it to thump your door than be dangerous road debris - but never had a problem before.
It's Important To Know What's Behind You...
by Colin Mitchell (04 Nov 2019)

Didn't like the fact there wasn't any straps. Shouldn't have worried because they are rock steady and give superb rear vision. Not cheap but you could spend a fortune trying all the others before the "Milenco".
Should Have Bought These First!
by Colc (14 Oct 2019)
(5/5)
Whilst waiting to get our caravan we bought all the essentials including towing mirrors and went for middle of the road ones that seemed to be well recommended. From the moment we drove off with the caravan I didn't have any confidence in them and have never been 100% happy with them. We eventually decided to try something else knowing that Amazon's excellent returns policy meant we could always return if not happy so we went for these Milenco ones. WOW! What a difference, we used these for the first time at the weekend and the difference is out of this world. The price is just over double what we paid for the original ones but I would have happily paid more after seeing how good they are. We were thinking about getting a rear view camera to supplement the old mirrors but no need for that now with these ones! Couldn't recommend these more, if you are struggling with your existing mirrors give these a go, I'm glad we did.

Learning From Our Mistakes....
by Karen0666 (23 Aug 2019)
(5/5)
A week before we were due to go away, my husband asked me to look for a set of replacement towing mirrors as his last cheap set he'd had for decades had just broken. I did the usual research online and decided upon these. Once he recovered after I told him the price (silly man thought I would buy cheap.. after 30 years of marriage you'd have thought he would've learned :)) Anyway I was given the OK to buy and did not regret our decision. First journey out and less than 5 minutes in I heard the comment 'should have got these years ago' and have heard this several times since too. They feel well made, very stable and fit our (nearly classic) 1999 Landrover Discovery mirrors well. Far easier to put on and take off than the old mirrors which had 2 straps that wrapped over the back of the mirror. The brackets/clips on the old pair were clumsy so would not allow door mirror to be adjusted electrically, we don't have this issue now. They give far a better and far safer viewing area of the road, the traffic, our Bailey Barcelona twin axle caravan and the blind spot we had with the old towing mirrors on the n/s has now gone.
Learning from our mistakes: If there's one piece of advice I could give it would be this... over the years we have had many caravans and cars but always towed with the same mirrors and what we've learnt from this experience is to invest in a good pair.. not all towing mirrors do the same job, yes our old cheap pair did the job but these are safer and have so many more advantages.
Reassuring In Their Operation

As a new person to caravanning having these mirrors give peace of mind when driving. They fitted to the wing mirrors of my Land Rover Discovery 4 very easily and there is no vibration when driving with on. They provide a wide angle of rear vision and are easy to remove and store in the well-constructed case that is provided with them

Does Not Fit Every Car Without Purchasing The Extra V Pads
by Nikonuser (11 Nov 2018)
(5/5)
The mirrors are large, they do stick out a fair bit, but are infinitely adjustable. be careful when fitting and make sure that the mirror is securely attached to the metal rod before adjusting, its easy to undo the wrong part of the clamp and find the mirror sliding off the pole. the mirrors have some slight distortion but don't interfere with the viewing experience.
These mirrors give a far better view of the road behind a caravan and they do not vibrate as much as my previous pair of mirrors (had rubber bands to hold onto mirror and were small in comparison). my only gripe is that having a 2014 Kia Sorento it meant I had to purchase the set of 4 V pads in order for them to fit correctly, at a considerable extra cost.

Nice And Secure, Completed A 800 Mile Round Trip With No Problems.
by Campbellb (16 Sep 2018)
(5/5)
Nice and secure, completed a 800 mile round trip with no problems. Easy to put on and off, no movement which was what I was worried about. No need for external ties etc, and once they're on you quickly forget that they're not your standard mirrors. Give a great view of the road. Obviously you need to adjust them etc to ensure you get the view you want/need. Used them on a Discovery 3 with a really wide and long trailer.

Better Than Those Fixed By Rubber Straps

Great Product But....
by Sp (11 Jan 2018)

Mirrors are good and are tight on the ball joints when adjusting so won't shift in use. The clamps for clamping onto the vehicle mirror are good quality and hold really well. However, the arms that are supplied position the mirror too far aft if you have large deep mirrors (mine are on a VW Amarok) found on many 4 x 4's. I ordered 12mm tube and bent my own to position the mirrors in the correct position for me on my vehicle.

Cheaper In The Long Run! No Elastic Bands Or Suckers Either!
by Nailman (20 Jun 2016)

Superb, quick and easy to fit, excellent clear, wide, vibration free view, robust. Even the storage bag is surprisingly good as the mirrors will fit back in it without having to be adjusted from your driving setting, so when you use them next time they are more or less adjusted and need only a quick tweak to be ready for the off.
Best towing mirror I've used in 40 years of towing, buy them - you won't be wasting the £25-40 quid more that they cost over cheapo ones, you will be saving the £20-35 that the cheaper ones cost when you get fed up with them and end up buying these later.

The quality of the milenco mirrors is first class. However the mounting clamps let me down on the first outing. The passenger one fell off after only a few miles. Thankfully retrieved unbroken. But there seems something not quite right about the clamping method. I have a civic tourer 2014. And I clamp onto the base of the mirror frame perhaps someone can advise me on a better more secure method.

by T. J. Lloyd (11 Apr 2015)
(4/5)
Well worth getting the grand aero as the view is superb. They fit easily and are rock solid.
I debated whether to get flat or convex, especially as you have to buy extra heads to mix them. Turns out that convex suit me fine.
Dropped one star because, despite the slim clips, they still block my LH mirror auto-dipping when reverse gear engaged.
The bag is a bit useless as the mirrors only fit when folded up whereas I try and keep them in the right orientation when on the car.

Good, Very Little Vibration
by Peter (22 Nov 2014)

Good, very little vibration. Not too sure about just having clamps to fit to fit to the top of vehicle mirror. First time used mirror fell off into the road. I was lucky not to break it. In my opinion it should have a bottom clamp too, inter connected with a rubber strap. Then it would be perfect. Vehicle used, VW Transporter.

I replaced my cheap and cheerful strap on mirrors with a convex pair of Milenco mirrors and they are brilliant. I have a VW Sharan and they fastened to the top of the mirrors with the screw down clamps. I was concerned the clamps may distort or damage the plastic casing on the door mirrors when tightened but the rubber seal prevents this. No cheap looking components, all top quality and they fit in seconds.
When towing I can see the full height of the caravan and there is plenty of room left to see a lot more. Great for looking at the caravan wheels when turning tight corners and keeping an eye on the near side when travelling on narrow roads.
A quality product which gives me reassurance when towing my caravan that I have excellent visibility behind me.

On The Whole Ok
by Dinglefoot (29 May 2013)
(4/5)
I have purchased these MILENCO towing mirrors and on the whole they are OK
If you get a nice tight clamp on to your door mirror there is just a little vibration but perfectly acceptable.
The only problem I found with them is they magnify too much, these mirrors make traffic look much closer than it really is, not making overtaking easy, as you air on the side of caution all the time.
Other than that build quality is good and mounting clamps are excellent.
Best Towing Mirrors On The Market
by D J Talbot (07 May 2013)
(5/5)
I tow a caravan around 7,000 miles a year and as long as the car mirror is reasonably large and sturdy, the Grand Aero mirrors complete the picture brilliantly. I towed with Aero mirrors for several years till a low flying pigeon did not get out of the way soon enough and knocked one off. They have never marked the paintwork on several different car wing mirrors unlike the strap-on models, although I am careful to keep the rubber feet clean. Easy to fit and remove they are an essential towing aid.
Good Product.

Fantastic Rearward Visibility
by Gareth (03 May 2013)
(5/5)
We all know that adequate rearward vision when towing is a legal requirement; it would be foolhardy to take to the roads without being able to see clearly down the sides (and to the rear) of one's trailer.
These mirrors, with their extra-large heads, give a clear line of sight along both sides of my outfit right to the rear corners. That motorcyclist who's overtaking? Easily seen. The van nibbling at the rear of the caravan? He's there. The car that click the indicator on to pull out behind? Got him. There is almost no vibration but don't forget that these are mounted to the plastic housing on your car mirror - if that housing vibrates, so will the mirror. They need a solid base to avoid that.
The convex glass takes a little getting used to if you haven't had it before - it is not the same as having an assymmetric portion as a blind-spot mirror that your driver's side mirror may have. However, they give a very wide field of vision that is excellent when on motorways. The size of the head itself means that the driver can see the top and bottom of the caravan (well, almost all of it) and I have found that I don't need to extend the arms out as far as I used to with my older mirrors.
In terms of construction, the high-quality brass threads inspire confidence and the plastic casings seem highly durable. I like the reflective spot, too - these are bit units! I've found that with the repeated alterations required to get them in the right place marked the metal arms a little, but these will most likely never move again.
All in, a great addition to your touring equipment.

(5/5)
I have a new style VW Sharan (2011) and the door mounted mirror and housing design does not allow for conventional towing mirrors to be fitted (there is no gap between the top of the glass and the housing). After contacting Milenco and confirming these towing mitrrors could be mounted upside down to the bottom of the door mirror housing, I decided to buy them. I've recently used them for the first time on a journey of 350 miles (twice) and they are excellent, virtually no vibration and no hint of coming off at speed. All round good purchase.

The description of these mirrors tells you that they will fit all cars manufactured after a certain date, which is fine. The description also tells you that they will fit all cars except the Mercedes GL. Well, I've got a Mercedes ML and this car has automatic folding mirrors, so as soon as the car is locked the mirrors fold in and the Milenco extensions crash into the side windows.
Fortunately there is very little pressure on the folding mirror motors so 'crash' is probably an exageration, but the first time you witness this it's a heart stopping sight. I subsequently spent two hours stripping the new mirrors, re-positioning the arms & brackets several times and eventually got to a stage where the new mirrors gave me a good rearview and only collided with the side windows slightly when folded. The pressure on the side windows is negligibe. I'm quite fastideous about my car and wouldn't use these mirrors if I thought there was the slightest chance of damage to the windows, but I'm now satisfied.
The rearview from these new mirrors is really good, but I've yet to use them on the road.

I own a Toyota Estima and have a mirror on the hatchback which aids reversing. My father owns a VW Transporter motorhome and has said he would like a similar mirror. I originally purchased one for him that used adhesive tape to stick the unit to the hatchback glass. It fell off after a shower of rain and broke. We are now going to use one of these towing mirrors as a reversing mirror for his motorhome. Some 'modifications' will need to be made to fix the unit, but, where there is a will ....etc! As previously stated, these are not cheap units, but, they are certainly made to a high standard. Excellent service from this company. Initially, these units were out of stock, however, more were quickly ordered and I was kept fully informed of the delivery status all through the process. Perhaps some purpose made reversing mirrors could be introduced to this excellent range?
Absolutely Stunning Mirrors.

These are exceedingly well designed, rock solid, very securely mounted. I was a bit apprehensive at first about the two clamping screws along the top of my car's wing-mirror housing, but I needn't have worried - the mirrors never moved, the car's mirror housing wasn't affected, and there was no vibration in the image. You even get to use the existing mirrors as well at the same time - which you can't always do with other types.
I wanted convex glass in both, as that is what I am used to, and the size of these mirrors means I can see top to bottom of each side of the caravan behind and an excellent rear view down past each side too.
Brilliant!....and you can get even longer arms for them if you have a wide caravan too.

Use these inconjunction with extra long arms for an 8' wide van. Excellent.

If you want the best then buy the Milenco Grand Aero Towing Mirrors. I wasted money trying to save money by buying something cheaper but I was not happy. I managed to get a refund and bought the Milenco Grand Aero Mirrors and am now happy.
Simply The BEST Towing Mirrors

These towing mirrors are not cheap but they are undoubtedly the best. They are not so much made as engineered. The quality is excellent. I originally bought the flat glass version and I know some caravanners prefer flat glass mirrors. However, most of us are more familiar with convex mirrors because convex glass is usually used in car door mirrors. It is personal choice but if you want an exact view pick flat glass. If you want what you are most familiar with then probably opt for the convex version. I now know that I prefer convex mirrors. Whatever you choose nobody is ever going to buy towing mirrors because they desire them but, if you have touring caravan and need a set of towing mirrors, then you won't go far wrong by purchasing these. Nothing else I have seen gives such excellent rearward vision. They are the only mirrors on the market for the caravan owner who refuses to make compromises. They really will help you to tow more safely. Buy them and see them as insurance rather than simply mirrors. You won't regret it. Oh, did I mention that they come in a smart carry bag too?
