Keep Old Screws
by Steve Tranter (04 Jul 2023)
(4/5)
I've used a couple of these, they are awkward to fit but that's the nature of the job. What I've found is the screws provided don't work. There's no thread inside the body so I reuse the old "self tapping" screws. Maybe I'm just missing a trick?

Better Than The Originals
by Neil Gregson (28 Oct 2019)

These appear to be much stronger than the original screws. Installation is only hindered by the leg design, but once in, a great, tight fit.
Alko Corner Steady Nut Replacement

Replacement unit fine but self tapping screws supplied diffificult to fit as they have fine threads and can easily go off ine, for £2.00 i purchased stainless steel tapered self tappers and made the job 10 times easier and saved energy and time.

Fits Perfect
by Mr. M. Stainforth (30 Jul 2018)

Only thing was that whilst working under the caravan it was difficult to open the leg profile to slide the nut in from the end. If I had had 3 arms it would probably been quite easy to do on site. I ended up having to remove the leg assembly and fit the nut on a work bench. Not hard to remove the leg assembly..... as long as the retaining bolts don't rotate with the nuts... but that's another story!

A Nut In Time
by Mons. Barber (19 Oct 2016)

This is theecond time I've purchase this product (AL-KO corner steady nut 20mm) from Leisureshopdirect and yet again without fail they have delivered promptly (to France) at a price that is very competitive and the cheapest postage that I found. Some companies seems to think France is in outer space and charge accordingly. The product is excellent quality and does what it says - it helps steady the corner leg on my caravan. Cannot recommend highly enough - will be using again for all my future caravan repair needs.

Cheap Item Saved A Fortune!

Why replace the complete caravan steady leg, when invariably, its the screw bush thread that fails. Just remove the pin holding the screw worm in place, and refit with new steady nuts as pictured. Job done. Great value and super quick delivery.

Big Job Made Easy!
by Mr HOODLESS (20 Aug 2014)

AL-KO corner steady leg nut. The cost of a new leg would be in excess of £90 a new nut just shy of £11. A no brainier if you don't mind getting your hands dirty and for a saving of £80 for 15 minutes work! As with every purchase I have made with these people the whole experience from start to finish has been a breeze, ordering, delivery and the excellent advice on every thing I have fitted. Can't fault in anyway!
Al-KO Replacement Nut
by Mr Lloyd (08 Aug 2014)

Cost effective replacement part. Remove the corner steady. After removing the pin holding the collar, the treaded bar is easily pulled through allowing the new nut to be fitted. I used the wide end of crow bar to slightly spread the square section and the nut then just dropped in.

Very Quick Delivery Of Quality Product
by Mr Wilson (16 Apr 2013)
(5/5)
A bit of a fiddle to fit (3 hands needed) but worth the effort as far cheaper than replacing the entire corner steady. Best done with assistance as I had to lever the two sides of the frame apart sufficiently to then put the new nut in to place. Most difficult bit was undoing the nuts holding the steady to the caravan so if you can fit the new nut with the steady still on the caravan then that would be better.

Can't believe the originals are plastic. A little tricky to get in but no major probs. The holding in screws are able to self tap the holes so no problems there either. Great product and well worth it rather than a whole new leg!!!

The two 6mm threaded holes, had no thread in them and one of them was not drilled through with a tapping sized drill. Had to ask a mate to drill the one hole and tap them out for me. Apart from that the steady works a treat
Swift, Corner Steady Nuts

I was surprised to find the original nut was made of plastic after having one break while on holiday. These nuts seem far superior, I ordered all 4 and they arrived within 48 hours of placing the order. Armed with a socket set, 2 old screwdrivers and a pair of tyre levers to spread the channel i replaced the lot in 2 hours

Al-ko corner steady nut - Cheaper Than Changing The Whole Leg!!!!

When I managed to snap the drive nut on my caravan leg I presumed I would have to buy a new leg at about 50 quid, but I found this and it did the job for about 9 quid.
