Truma SE/TE Mover Motor Replacement

by Ken Cousins (14 Sep 2013)
5 star review(5/5)
Suffered what seems to be a common fault with the gearbox drive pin falling out of Motor B causing unexpectedly the nearside to freewheel whilst manoeuvring (Dangerous). Truma Replacement £720 compared to full replacement approx. £1000 makes no sense. Saved by Leisure shop direct with a sensibly priced replaced, excellent service and a fantastic supporting tracking delivery service. This is the first website I have labelled best practice. A bit of DIY / Mechanic understanding is needed to tackle this job. The Roller traverse motor needs to be removed from the gearbox housing, with cable, that is held by four star screws into the gearbox housing and access is not easy even with the roller fully out. I used a flex shaft screwdriver but the ideal tool would be a star type Alan Key if there is such a thing. This then needs to be re-fitted into the new assembly along with the motor impeller, roller and motor cover. Two new bolts with a Loctite substance on the threads are supplied for re-fitting the Mover slide rods on to the metal framework. The Mover is now operational and as long as it lasts will be great Value For Money. My only concern now is the pin coming out of Motor A and will always stay near the handbrake when using the Mover just in case.
