Ideal Additional Heater
by Mrs M Mellichap (03 Dec 2023)

Useful heater to keep in the hallway when no need to put central heating on as it warms the hallway, kitchen & stairway. Could be used in a conservatory or orangery, only need on low to keep room warm. Also looks fab, you wouldn’t think it was a calor gas heater. Good back up heater if your central heating failed.

Wanted a gas wood burner in sun lounge but too difficult to do. Then we saw the Provence gas heater which answered all our problems. Looks great, very well made and warms up the room in minutes. The service was second to none from Leisureshop.direct. would definitely recommend the product and the company.

In Love With Our Provence Heater
by Mrs Wild (02 Jan 2023)
(5/5)
This looks beautiful - especially when it's lit. It really blasts out the heat. This is the only heating we have in our house at the moment and it heats the entire floor - hallway/living room/dining room and kitchen. We usually only have to put it on for an hour or so but then it stays warm (not dangerously hot) for a long while and continues to warm the room.

Good Heater Saved My Mains Gas Usage
by Mr johnson (15 Dec 2022)
(5/5)
Great heater very smart for living room. Bought the Matt black Provence heater. I have a large living room so it does not heat the whole room. It takes the chill out of the room which is great, probably would suit a smaller space for heating. I’m really pleased I bought this and leisure shop direct were excellent with the whole buying process. Delivery was great and I have even purchased extra logs for the heater. At the moment I have only been using the heater on the first gas setting which has been enough for my usage. Waiting to see how long my 15kg gas bottle lasts.

Provence Portable Gas Heater
by Sharon Gallagher (16 Nov 2022)
(5/5)
Brilliant portable gas fire, with style and elegance for any room.
My dad purchased this heater for me as my lounge and kitchen is open plan and no matter how long I had my radiators on downstairs, the room was still like an ice box...
BUT NO MORE.... this heater, after an hour the whole room including the floor is cosy and warm.
And will save me a fortune on Gasing up the radiators that had no effect on cold at all.
Thanks to leisureworld I got this product cheaper than anywhere else

Love this! Looks so authentic. Heats up our conservatory beautifully. Love knowing I’m not running up any energy bills. We know this will last the winter. Cost us hundreds last year would have been double this with Fischer heaters!!

Fantastic Customer Service
by Lee (07 Nov 2022)
(5/5)
The fire arrived and at first everything seemed fine until I opened the box and found the heater had several faults. I emailed Karen from Customer Service who promptly arranged for a replacement to be sent and the faulty heater collected at the same time.
The heater certainly kicks out some heat and is an easy to move around the house to heat where required.
The only negative thing I can say is that I found it really hard to obtain the gas cylinder for it as it turns out Calor will only do exchanges for empty ones. Luckily I managed to get an empty cylinder off Amazon marketplace locally.
Love It!
by Louise Reading (03 Nov 2022)

So happy with this gas heater, provides warmth through out down stairs. Easy to use and control temperature. Log effect and option of colour makes this a perfect addition to my living room. I had to save in order to buy this and it is totally worth it. We energy bills rising this will help not to use heating and is a manageable cost with gas bottles lasting at least 75hrs. Would recommend getting one before cold weather really sets in.

Provence Gas Heater
by A Friedmann (03 Oct 2022)
(5/5)
Excellent heater. Prompt delivery. Very happy with the service. The only downside is that the delivery company wouldn’t bring the boxed up heater through my front door. It weighs 48 kilos and I couldn’t move it. It does say they can’t put through the customers front door because of insurance issues on the delivery company’s information but it caused a difficult situation for me to resolve. So if your an older single woman make sure you have help at hand. Otherwise I’m happy with the Provence gas heater. It’s warm and looks like a wood burning stove. Very attractive. Before you buy make sure you can get hold of a 15k gas bottle. Fixing the gas pipe to the bottle was a bit fiddly.

Absolutely love it. Looks great in the kitchen/diner, doesn’t look like a portable heater. Very easy to use and move around. Moved it to the rear living room and looks fantastic there also. Warms up the rooms very quick and put on low maintains the temperature. Love the flame effect on the log’s. Not been able to see the bottle is a big plus. Genuinely looks like a real log burner. Would highly recommend the Provence fire.

I bought this heater to have just in case something happened with my central heating and it is fab. I wanted the gloss finish and was lucky it would be in stock , as I have witnessed with wood burners there is always someone who can’t resist cleaning the dust with a wet cloth and then they rust. I am very pleased with my Provence stove , the ease of use and heat performance .

Stylish Gas Heater
by Matt (14 Oct 2021)
(5/5)
This gas fire looks very stylish and appears well made with a nice gloss finish. It’s easy to assemble the few bits that need doing such as putting the coals in. Once I’d installed a battery in the igniter and attached a butane gas bottle to the quick fit regulator following the instructions the fire lit first time and has done so ever since. It gives out plenty of heat . My only complaint is that once the pilot light is lit the only way of turning it off is to turn off the gas and disconnect the bottle for safety. This is all explained in the instructions but I think a method of turning it off without disconnecting the gas would be good if the fire is being shut off for short periods. Overall though I’m very happy with my fire and would recommend it.

by Ice Weaver (31 Oct 2020)
(5/5)
I purchased this fire to heat a conservatory that was not usable in winter, With a new well insulated roof and the addition of this new fire, it is now possible to use the conservatory as just another room. Almost all suppliers only stock the black version .. ( I don’t do black anything !) so was very pleased to find that other colours were available from leisureshopdirect.com. Within a few days, My new Atlantic Blue fire arrived and It’s really very nice, oK, it’s quite heavy (cast iron) but it’s on wheels so no problem. It takes a 15kg gas bottle in the back. The controls are inside the top cover which hinges up to access a gas tap with 3 positions ... Standby pilot, low flame and Max flame. But no OFF ! And I don’t really understand why that is since burning the light overnight serves on purpose at all except to unnecessarily use gas, so for economy I just turn the bottle tap to it’s off position, that’s no problem as the fire is VERY easy to light with the spark button next to the control tap (just as lightning any other gas appliance). In that wonderful thing called hindsight, I think I would prefer to have the log-bed insert rather than coal so I will soon be bending my pension a bit to get that (optional extra)
To sum up : We are delighted with this fire, it’s really fantastic, our conservatory has never been this useable. The fire also looks good so no need to hide it away for summer.
I can 100% recommend it and indeed also leisurshopdirect.com

Fantastic Quality But No Cheaper To Run Than An Electric Fire
by Kindle Customer (02 Nov 2019)
(5/5)
Superb quality, well built and engineered to last. Looks like it costs twice as much. Good heat output.
The cost to run is not as cheap as you might think however. A 13kg bottle will give 180 kwh which equates to 22p per kwh which means it is not as cheap as an electric fire to run. Figures are based on the gas consumption and heat output numbers in the manual and current Flogas price of £38 for a 13kg bottle (this price assumes you have an empty bottle to exchange) and Bulb's current standard electricity tariff of around 17p per kwh. Of course you can get savings by only heating a room at time compared to using central heating (but that would also apply to a portable electric heater too). This like all flueless gas heaters also needs to be in a large room that is well ventilated (ideally with a permanent air vent); you must also use a CO detector. These kinds of heaters should really only be used as a top up to an existing heating system (such as central heating) - using them as the only source of heat may lead to excessive condensation. The full gas bottles are very heavy (well over 25kg for a 13kg bottle) so may not be suitable for some users where lifting and moving them will be difficult (my elderly Mum would never be able to manage this).
That said it is much better looking than an electric heater - it looks like a real gas fire. We use ours to top up the existing storage heaters when the temperature falls during the evening - makes the kitchen really cosy. You should see it as a stylish way to enhance a room. It is not a way to save money on heating bills though.

Wonder if return is possible. Sadly, it didn’t fit into my fire place ! I have a very small lounge . Wish it did !

Best purchase we have made this year it heats the whole room in an hour (we have a small art gallery) the main drawback is that it is so attractive that we want to keep it alight but are in danger of cooking our students and ourselves. Yes the top gets hot but get real it is a fire so you would expect it. There really is no downside to this great looking and efficient heater

Fabulous Purchase
by Debbielu (11 Oct 2019)
(5/5)
So pleased with this purchase. We have a conservatory which measures 7m x 4m and, with this heater, it is warm and toasty within 15 mins, it's also heating the lounge as well.
I love the look.
We have a fairly modern house which has no fireplace, so we rely on the central heating. Usually pretty good until you open the doors to the conservatory. Well now, the conservatory is warmer than the house in a few minutes. Having to keep turning it off as it gets too warm, but not complaining. Waiting for the really cold weather in the winter to be able to sit in the conservatory all year round without costing a fortune in heating bills!

No More High Electric Bills
by Amazon Customer (28 Feb 2019)
(5/5)
The best thing bought in my house. We had one electrical radiator in our lounge with 2 big windows. The lounge was never warm enough but after buying gas fire our lounge is now always lovely and warm. Very cozy. Our friends have also noticed the huge difference and are planning to invest in this gas fire.
We also liked how it looks, it compliments our decor. No more worrying about huge electric bills. And when you switch it on 30mins later the house is lovely and warm. Whereas with electric heater we had to wait 2hours for the whole room to be lovely and warm.

This is great in an old draughty house when it’s really cold, to support central heating systems. It looks great too. Not for bedrooms, bathrooms or small rooms, fumes need to dissipate.
Works just like the old calor gas heaters - but looks great
Handsome And Efficient.
by Sally Lees-smith (02 Feb 2019)
(5/5)
Love this fire. I am an interior designer so it had to be stylish. We had underfloor heating in our conservatory which was costing a fortune in cold weather to run. Now we have this heater, I have taken all other heaters out as it is so efficient. Have not worked out the cost yet as we have only had it a couple of days. Look forward to reducing the cost of energy bills. Very solid and good looking.

Great Heater And Focal Point.
by Andrewtmsav (05 Jan 2019)
(5/5)
Great focal point. Very powerful and beats the electric heaters I had. Using it in a very well ventilated man shed and it certainly creates a cosy atmosphere. Had a 15kg cylinder in it and on half power (more than enough) it’s still going strong 2 months later about 3 hours a night. Heats the room to about 25 degrees in 20 minutes. I would recommend for safety reasons a co alarm and good ventilation as with all gas heaters.

Something Different
by Sue Clark (14 Nov 2018)
(4/5)
I bought the Provence gas heater for my new conservatory. I was going to have a slimline radiator but decided to go for something as for of a focal point and loved the antique look and design of this fire although a bit more than I wanted to pay. My first fire was delivered quickly but unfortunately damaged, the cylinder was not secured to the base and screw plates were damaged but replacement was quickly arranged. It’s a lovely fire and heats up quickly and looks great, had many compliments. On the top there is a nice cut out pattern and in the cut out spaces the finish could be better as there are some rough bits but overall love it and would recommend the fire itself and Leisure Shop Direct.

Best idea ever. Ideal for a conservatory. Can store it away for the Summwr and bring it back out for the Winter. Looks solid and like a wood burner. Gives good heat, don’t know how quick it will use up my 15k gas bottle but I don’t care because this is a great product.
Amazing!
by Namwob (13 Oct 2018)
(5/5)
Needed a little extra heat for our conservatory and this heater has gone above and beyond, kicks out some powerful heat but it also looks beautiful, really heavy cast iron in matt black, well packaged so arrived in perfect condition and delivery was very fast, when it’s on it looks so good with the flames and the glowing of the coals, next best thing to a log burner without the mess! Only thing I would say is that the fumes are a bit strong when on high but we rarely need it on max and definitely important to keep room ventilated, can’t recommend this heater enough, actually don’t put our radiator on now as was using so much oil and not heating room sufficiently, definitely buy this if you want something that’s looks as good as the pics, better actually and at a great price and does the job
Very Nice Heater - Looks Great But The Ironwork Gets Very Hot.
by Buzz From Leeds (07 Oct 2018)
(5/5)
The ironwork gets VERY hot and it is not recommended for room less than 64 cubic meters. That said, we think it is a very nice fire and the customer service from the Gas centre was excellent.
We got this Provence calor gas heater in late September 2018.
Delivery was quick and customer service to facilitate the delivery was very good.
Having received the heater within 3 days of ordering we noticed how substantial this unit was. It looks great and is heavy. (A good thing in our view) It is a good solid cast iron fire.
A week later we decided to test it and lit it for 30 minutes or so. There was no unacceptable smell and it looked and worked very well. After around 30 minutes I went to adjust its position and found the ironwork to be extremely hot.
The entire front and top edge of the unit gets so hot it could pose a burn hazard. (If you have to reposition it (whilst it is hot) you might need to use oven gloves).
That said it could be a good thing, because the unit is radiating heat into the room so you can turn off the gas and it still gives off heat for a good while.
I would recommend it as long as you have a room large enough to accommodate safely.

Great product that not only looks good but does a great job in heating an area as well. We were amazed at how much heat it throws out. It was easy to set up and it’s essy to move around given it runs on castors. 10 put of ten from us. Would certainly recommend

Great quality, looks fab easy to use .
It’s quite heavy and the cast iron lid stores heat nicely. Don’t need it on for long and room is nice and warm. I have an open plan living dining kitchen area so a large space - don’t need this on for more than an hour and don’t even put it on full. Very efficient .

Good Looking, Efficient Heater
by Miss Sunshine (01 Apr 2018)
(4/5)
Lots of compliments from guests about the look of this heater. I have to agree with them. Most people are very surprised when they realise it's a calor gas fire as it fools most at first who think it's an authentic old stove. It is very heavy but I cannot see that as a negative like some reviewers and the thing is on wheels anyway. Having said that, it is not the easiest thing to steer about the room but with some persuasion and experience with supermarket trollies, it will eventually go from A to B. If anyone is considering buying this heater with a view of storing it miles away from where you might want to use it from time to time, it might not be the best idea for that reason. Very easy to ignite and simple to use - there are two heat settings. Medium setting is totally adequate and at full blast it can only be tolerated for a few minutes as the thing is so efficient and the heat it produces quite incredible. Flames on moderate can just about be seen in daylight, I would describe it as more of a hot glow, much more flame when on full blast though. It also has a soft pleasant noise of flame licking around coals. As there is no way of telling when the calor gas bottle will run out, we've learnt our lesson and have a spare bottle just in case it all goes wrong on a particularly cold day. Installing the bottle is very simple although a fully charged one is heavy. We have a carbon monoxide alarm in the same room as the heater as a precaution (and from memory is recommended in the instructions) - there has never been a problem. It is also recommended to service the heater once a year. My only criticism is that I was not aware that it would be delivered on a pallet and the delivery driver, who was a total misery guts churned up my gravel driveway with his trolley in protest as I asked him to bring it closer to my front door. He flatly refused to take the pallet away with him. So one star removed purely because the delivery experience was such a let down. The stove

Although, I'm a big fan of Amazon, I purchased this item elsewhere. It came on a very hefty Lorry & was much larger & heavier than I first expected. I purchased this heater in addition to 2 x 2.5KW De'Longhi dragon heaters which help boost the electric floor heating in a new house I moved into at Christmas. The electric heating is very expensive and the room was feeling constantly cold. I found that with this Gas heater the room warms up much faster and the AIR seems much more comfortable to be in. I don't think it will be any cheaper to run vs. electric, but it's made a big difference to the feel of warmth in our large family room. The 3KW setting brings allot of heat, but beware the heat radiates upwards and not forwards as you'd expect from an open fire (or the older style gas bottle heaters, so you wont be feeling more heat if you sit in front of it). That said It's a delight to look at and I think will last for many many years.
I followed the instructions to burn on full OUTSIDE for four hours to burn off all the residue that cause the smell but still suffer the smell 1 week into it's use. Not sure how long the gas cylinder will last, I purchased a Flo-Gas 13kg bottle - The refill was £36 from the local petrol station and after 1 week it is feeling pretty light. Having a spare seems like the right thing to do and getting gas on the internet is less expensive than the local stores, so be prepared for run-out!
The heater itself is very heavy and appears to be made out of cast iron which makes it difficult to move from room to room, but it comes on high quality castors which do a great job. I was in two-minds wether to buy this out-dated technology, as it's something you expect to see at grandma's house but with it's clean design and excellent finish it even looks great in our contemporary living space.

We found the Gas heater to be the most reasonably priced on the market, also in stock! We have now had the opportunity to use the heater, and are very pleased with the way it looks and works. A nice touch to our home. The only negative item is we cannot work how the back cover goes on!

I took the plunge and bought the Provence stove after years of wanting it, but there were mixed reviews being made by owners! I kept an eye on the reviews and I read enough to make a balanced decision and I am so glad I did my only regret is not buying it sooner. I am so happy with it I uploaded pictures of how it looks when on the first picture I just put on the stove and the second picture with the blue flame been on for a while burning off the coating on the coals that causes the smell. It's a lovely addition to my home the cast iron is quality and I think the stove is a bit expensive but worth it, I shopped around and got the best deal. I recommend 100%

We bought this heater as a back up in case we have a power cut in the winter. Not only is it very efficient it looks great as well.
It weighs a ton , but as its on wheels this isn't a problem unless you have to carry it up steps. I love the way the gas canister is completely encased and out of sight.

This Is Perfect For Those Chilly Mornings When You Haven't Yet Cleaned ...
by L. A. Ferguson (06 Sep 2016)

I bought one for my house in Spain, so not from Amazon. I'd seen it in a friend's flat, and was looking for the flue when she laughed and flipped open the top to show me the gas bottle. I have a large house in the countryside, with a large wood burning stove. As we are on solar, electric heaters are not a top up option. This is perfect for those chilly mornings when you haven't yet cleaned the woodburner from the night before, or are just feeling lazy. As it's on wheels it can be moved around. I paid a lot more for mine in Spain. It's very easy to use, the controls are on top under the lid, and everyone who sees it wants one !

I live in a property were no gas is supplied, so I purchased and tried a variety of Electric powered heaters. Unfortunately over the past year I experienced the effects with the meter readings and finally concluded electricity wasn't the best way to heat the home. Ive purchased this ornamental stove heater which compliments the aesthetic look of the room. Generally used with a window open for additional ventilation and it works like a dream. It hosts 3 heater settings and I've never used level three. Generally levels 1 and 2 are sufficient.
Cast Iron and well made sturdy product.

A Very Impressive Looking Stove Which Gives Out Lots Of Heat
by Amazon Customer (19 Jan 2016)
(5/5)
I bought this heater last year as my electricity bill, to run my storage heaters, was becoming way too high. The initial smell from the coals did disappear after about 4 hours of using it on the high setting. The heat output is fantastic, and I am now warmer than I ever was with my storage heaters. It looks great, and the flames produce a very realistic coal fire effect. The flames are not massive, if that is what you are expecting, but they are sufficient for the desired effect. The stove is heavy being made of cast iron, but the castors make it easy to move around: Older people may probably have more problems lifting a 15 kg bottle of butane gas. Unfortunately, after about 6 months, I did experience problems with the pilot light - taking many times of pressing the igniter to get it to stay alight. Eventually there was no spark from the igniter at all, even after changing the battery. I phoned Calor Gas and they said their policy is to do a direct swap rather than getting it repaired. I really noticed the cold during the time without my gas fire, and I am now pleased to have my replacement. The customer service at Calor Gas was excellent during their dealings with the replacement. I think this gas fire is an excellent heating alternative, and so I'm hoping that I wont have problems with my replacement. 15 kg of butane gas, at about £33, is much cheaper than using my storage heaters. Although I was unlucky with my first stove, I would recommend this stove to anyone contemplating the purchase of one.
Delivery Problems
by Amazon Customer (10 Jan 2016)

I am very happy with my gas heater the only issue that I had was that when it was delivered there was only the driver to unload this I had to help him lift this appliance off of the lorry and carry it to my property and it was very heavy which put a strain on my back also the drivers back as a customer I do not expect to have to unload any deliveries off of a lorry and carry it into my property it should be delivered to my door

I also bought this for my conservatory after having two very disappointing electric log burner type stoves in there that cost me an absolute fortune to run. This heater was the answer to all my problems, it looks fantastic, the heat output is amazing (I've never used it higher than the low setting and it's super toasty warm), the price is, I think, what you would expect to pay for a superb heater like this. Everyone loves it and on a frosty morning I can switch it on while I'm preparing my breakfast & by the time it's ready I can sit in the conservatory eating my breakfast & watch the birdies in the frosty garden and be as warm as my toast....aaah, wonderful !!!

Its beautiful. I have a cottage with a real coal/log fire and wanted something in my town flat and chose this. It provides heat and is amazingly realistic ~ I actually had it in my cottage to see it against the flickering of my real fire and on setting 2, its like a real fire that is simmering and on setting 3, the flames are absolutely realistic. It is a superb piece of furniture and I highly recommend this against other stoves. It has a real French look top, hence the name.

A very substantial heater in cast iron that really looks like a genuine stove. The hear output is very good and warms through from our dining room into the living room. We like the way the heat comes out of the top rather than the front like our previous portable fire, it just seems to us to be a nicer heat. Looks like a feature rather than just a boring portable gas fire, do your research to get the best price but highly recommended.

by Miss Kathryn J Freeman (18 Jan 2015)

I bought my stove three years ago and I love it. It has castors so the weight isn't really a problem. And cast iron is always going to be heavy - if you want lightweight then this isn't the stove for you. This looks good quality and belts out the heat. We just use it in our large kitchen and don't even bother with the central heating. It gets so many compliments too for its good looks.
Great Smart Looking Item
by Jakki N. (17 Jan 2015)
(5/5)
Great smart looking item. although bit disappointed in the heat settings of it. My really cheap one has three, but the lowest is one bar and not a pilot light. The second setting is two bars and that gives off great heat and have to turn it back onto one after half an hour . This one on its highest setting takes a good while to heat the room. And adding to what someone else has noticed the flame is hardly visible which is disappointing too .
And Looks Good Too.

Provence Portable Gas Heater

Very happy with this Provence heater. Delivery was excellent, arrived within a few days of ordering. This was an ideal purchase for me as I just wanted a back up heat supply for when I did not want central heating on. I made my choice based on the excellent reviews and I have not been disappointed. It is a lovely focal point to my living room and gives off wonderful warmth. As with other reviews you do need to burn off coals but smell is minimal, what you would expect with calor gas. Although made of heavy cast iron it is very portable with the castors.
Loooks Fantastic Heats Well - And Quickly
by Green Glass Goblin (25 Jul 2014)

Bought this 18 months ago for the conservatory. Loooks fantastic heats well - and quickly. there is some condensation with it as calor is a "wet" heat, but I have a dehumidifier which I switch on when it is in use - and I use the water from that for my "steam mop"
The mmore you use it the less it smells. Very little now at all. Good product and looks fantastic.

We purchased this item to warm the conservatory so we could use if during the winter months, we were unsure if it would keep the conservatory warm as a lot of people had said we would lose all heat through the roof, not true we have kept it on a very low heat at weekends and the conservatory has been exceptionally warm.
I would definitely recommend this item to anyone who is thinking of purchasing it. I have already recommended this items to my sister for her conservatory.

Just One Thing..........
by Chris (16 Dec 2013)

I've had one of these for a couple of years now, bought as a backup to night storage heating in case of power cuts. It's great, fast controllable heat for those chillier days/nights. One thing has bugged me since day one though. This is a cleverly designed and nice to look at heater. With all the thought that's gone into it you'd think they could've designed a better coal effect. It's a big stuck together chunky brick. All the advertising pictures show it on full flame, that's because then is the only time you can really see it.
Turn it down to half and it barely glows. I've actually gone out not realising it was still on.Couldn't there have been a way to use some of those loose coals that would've been more effective?
Provence Calor Heater
by P A Cobbold (14 Dec 2013)
(5/5)
I felt the need to leave a review to compensate for the ridiculous one star review that was left on Amazon, I have a very large conservatory that despite having two double radiators fitted always feels chilly in the winter hence the need for a portable heater.
I bought the Provence for the look of the product, and the reality of the heater is even better in real life than in the pictures.
Having followed the instructions which clearly state burn on full OUTSIDE for four hours to burn off all the residues that cause the smell.
I have now fitted it in the Conservatory I now have a usable room in all weather (and no smell at all).
The heater is very heavy and appears to be made out of cast iron so if you intend to use the Provence in different areas I would think again.
Now onto the good parts, looks fantastic (like a proper log burner)gives out a massive amount of heat and would compliment any house.
The only downside is the price but you do get what you pay for.
Fantastic Heater
by C. J. Taylor (24 Nov 2013)

Had this for over a year now and it is brilliant. I was a bit wary at first as there seemed to be a few horror stories regarding a terrible smell and the odd near explosion. But I have to agree with another comment regarding the illiterate few. The manual CLEARLY states that you MUST burn off the coating on the 'coals' and the best place for this is outside - this will get rid of the smell. With regards to the 'near explosions' - I can only assume that these people were using Propane.
We are told again CLEARLY that this heater uses BUTANE and is fitted with a Butane regulator. ( which cannot be used with propane as the pressures are different )
So, after following the CLEARLY WRITTEN OPERATING MANUAL, I fired it up and have had nothing but fantastic heat ever since. A 15Kg gas bottle lasts ages !!

The manufacturer had the consumer in mind when producing this product. The instructions are clear and the item is easy to set up. The only thing I had to do was install a battery and connect my gas cylinder to it. Job done!
I purchased this as a cost effective alternative to my electric heater in my large living room which only took the edge off the cold. This heater made it nice and cosy in no time at all.
The instructions include a safety and maintenance manual which Is always important to read. The only thing I had to do was download a separate instruction manual on how to fit a butane gas cylinder to the appliance as I have never used gas before. As noted in most reviews there is a smell which is mentioned more than once in the booklets that come with the product so they recommend it will go after 4 hours of burning.
Most appliances (other than electric) will omit a certain amount of CO (Carbon monoxide) so its advisable to purchase a CO detector when buying any type of carbon burning appliance
A Stove Heater Without The Hassle Of Ventilation
by Chris (30 Oct 2012)
(5/5)
i bought this for a small room at home as the walls are solid block which makes it hard to heat, i loved the idea of a stove but didn't want the hassle of putting a hole in the wall to ventilate so i find the provence the real deal, it look's the part and really heats up in no time, i would have liked the idea of using this with just the flame going without the heat but you can put it onto a low setting. money well spent.

Really Good Heater
by Wid (17 Sep 2012)

We bought this to go in a large (22' x 14') conservatory. It replaced 2 rather shabby 2Kw electric wall heaters.
It looks better.
It heats better.
It heats cheaper.
OK - on first use there is some smell - but you are warned of this in the manual so it will only bother the illiterate who do not follow instructions to burn off the manufacturing finish in the coals and prime them.
I would expect there to be both carbon dioxide, water and a very low level of carbon monoxide emitted - the latter being indicated by a yellow flame indicating incomplete combustion and needing attention. This is also covered in the instructions.
However, I would not think it a good idea to have any form of combustion in an enclosed space without ventilation. This is covered too.
Any criticism - yes, the castor wheel covers are silver and stand out rather alarmingly against the matt black of the rest of the stove - black Hammerite has solved that one!
Nice one - friends want one too.

Provence Heater Review

I have one of theese heaters one year now and i love it its very effective for heating my livingroom i have economy7 heating (useless)and i switch it on in the evening when i come home to top up my heating level. It looks like a real wood burner when set to max the only down side to it is it does use more gas than my last super sur but then it does give out more heat and as with all these type of heaters and cookers there is a very slight smell its not bad or very apparent but then a real coal or wood burning fire does smell to and it would not put me off recomending this item well built and looks fantastic
