I bought this for a campervan holiday when the hired van didn't have built-in hook up. So glad I did - we had power for the cool box, chargers etc. Genius, wish I'd thought of getting one ages ago!
The unit is big, sturdy and does exactly what it says on the tin. It also has handy clips for tent poles, should such things exist any more.

Very heavy duty, I was surprised at its size when it arrived. Accordingly it is quite heavy so I would not recommend this to backpackers. Perfect for our intended use though, as we were travelling by car and wanted electricity in our tent.

I didn't get to use it yet as it was bigger than I expected (diameter of box about 10cm) and I didn't have the space to take it, but it looks and feels very sturdy and well made. The sockets are pointed to the side so you can properly use all three at the same time. I look forward to getting around to using it, I'm sure it will prove to be very useful.

Got this item for my VW Camper T4 for use on certain sites .
I have to say it is heavy but then it is big with fuse box and great long lead (Better to much than not enough)
It was used outside and in some rainy conditions and it was great. No problems at all. Will soon be packing away until next season.
If you are seriously thinking of an electrical hook up, I can whole heartedly and safely recommend this item and this seller.
Yes there were cheaper ones out there and on reflection I chose wisely. But even at the price that is not expensive for what you get and will use many many times.

Used on a camping trip in July and it did everything I expected. It fitted perfectly into the power box on the UK campsite and I then had electricity in my tent.
I was surprised at how big it was (it is very chunky) but it feels like top quality gear.
There is a metal fold out hanging loop which I am sure would be usefultimate but I didn't use it....I just put it on the floor inside my tent.

Our first time using this on a weekend trip in a day van proved a success, enabled the use of a fan in the hot weather and phone charging, with a plug to spare. The metal handle on the back was great for putting on a hook.
The red light to tell you it is on was bright but nothing a piece of insulation tape couldn't dull down for overnight.

I am using this on my generator, it works well, I am charging a motorcycle battery and it is working well.
If it does not work first time, check it is plugged in properly and the switches are on. the cable is long enough for most uses.

This sucker is BIG!! We'd bought this with a view to take it with us on a fortnights camping/touring around England, whenever the box arrived we were shocked at just how big this thing is, but after unboxing it we discovered that it fits nicely under the back/rear of the drivers seat in my car.
As for the product itself, it worked well and kept our devices charged, what more could you ask for.
Oh and the lead was super long, which came in handy for some pitches.

Perfect mains supply unit. I used this on a full week's camping holiday this year and had no issues with it at all. I stayed at a few different camp sites travelling the NC500 and it all worked fine. So glad I purchased it. I have never dried my hair in a tent before, quite amusing. Yes it was for my hairdryer. No bad hair days YAY. I love camping I just don't love feeling like a troll so much :) I would definitely recommend.

Very sturdy, feels well made, and works well. the sockets have been turned round 90 degrees so there is no issue with using all the sockets at once. Long long lead (20m!) so should be no need for extension cables. Used it on a UK camp site recently with no problems and would expect it to last a long time given that the build quality seems good.

Works well - sockets are aligned crossways so you can use all three at once (not as shown in the picture which I believe is the old version).
anyway - it lets you charge your vital electronics, whilst boiling the kettle and running a heater, everything you need for a scottish camping trip :)

Crusader must have been listening to the reviews and have engaged in product development. All three 13A sockets are now rotated by 90 degrees such that the standard UK plugs and trailing leads don't interfere with each other. (see attached photo) The whole unit is still slightly bulky but you do get a full 20m of cable.

Work as an electrician and needed a socket, that I felt was going to be safe for a last minute booked camping trip with friends. Could of made my own but by the time you get the cables, and costs together of making your own RCD socket for camping it would add up.

Crusader must have been listening to the reviews and have engaged in product development. All three 13A sockets are now rotated by 90 degrees such that the standard UK plugs and trailing leads don't interfere with each other. (see attached photo) The whole unit is still slightly bulky but you do get a full 20m of cable.

The unit arrived tightly packed into the product box, which had to be discarded as there was no way we could fit it all back in again after use. The cable was plenty long enough. The fixings on the back of the socket unit allowed it to be attached to the kitchen storage unit, keeping everything nicely off the ground. We had problems using some of our plugs as the lid covering the sockets only lift to 90 degrees, but with a little manipulation we were able to remove the cover without damaging anything.

Bought this for a recent camping trip and it was brilliant. Long lead means that hook-up point is easily reached without having over-stretched wires. I note that some reviews commented on the plug sockets being vertically rather than horizontally positioned, making it impossible to use all sockets at once. This has obviously been rectified by the manufacturers who have listened to the feedback. Handy, sprung socket-covers prevent water/objects from getting into the sockets. Also very sturdy.

The cable on this is huge (and really thick!)
My sockets were not in the same direction as shown on the picture, rather they were rotated 90 degrees to the right so all 3 sockets are usable.
Appears to be very safe - tested the trip and it works well. Hookup Plug also looks to be made to a very high standard.

Good quality, good value for money. The cable is quality 2.5mm guage (I think a previous reviewer questioned this), and the plug sockets also seem to have been rotated 90 degrees, so there is no issue with overlapping moulded plugs covering other sockets (this is mentioned on the packaging as an improved feature).

Top quality product, very well made. The cable is very long too. Only fault with it is the sockets would have been better side on, as if you have plugs with stiff wires you can only use the top and middle socket. The middle one is u useable as they are so close together.

Thank you to all the Amazon buyers that took the time to advise me about this item before I purchased it.
We used this during a week of (tent) camping. The covers on the unit do prevent 3 plugs being used (despite it having three sockets). We got round this by running two household multi-socket extension leads from it ... one we ran into the bedroom area (to charge phones and the tab) and one we had in the kitchen area (to use for the toaster & kettle ... both low amp versions that we didn't use at the same time). I also ran a heat pad from this. I also had an electric icebox that ran from this the entire week.
I have marked it down one star for the poor placement of the sockets and covers.

Only problems people have is not planning what is going to be plugged in, we had a fridge and two phones working from this with no issues, yes the sockets could be pointing in different directions but its not all that bad.

Recently purchased for a camping holiday.
The camp site provided power by way of site sockets and we thought it would be a worthwhile investment to buy this supply unit. We weren't mistaken!
The unit is of strong build, and I have no doubts that it would stand up to a good bit of camping-basking-around.
I tested the breaker's ability on arrival, both with it's test button, and an external tester - no worries there.
While camping we had nothing happen to cause a trip, but the highest load on the unit would have been a travel kettle running the same time as a powered cooler.
The flex is superbly long and robust. The unit has a couple of options to secure it during use, such as clips to clip onto a tent pole, or a wire hanger to suspend it from a hook.
Hopefully it will stand the test of time, but I've let the family know it's there should they want to borrow it, as it is very handy.

Heavy, solid, made to BS standards and with a circuit breaker and covers for each socket. To me it was worth us spending nearly £40 on power for our tent. Let's think for a moment...electricity + rain = .... yep, disaster if you have bought some cheap rubbish you see on eBay for £10.
If you really want power in your tent, go for something substantial like this. Hubby says it's almost heavier than our tent to carry but worth it in our opinion. Hubby can have his gas stove for his coffee. Me? I'm going to plug my kettle in and drink my tea while I watch him faff about being a real camper ;-)

Arrived earlier than the delivery estimate. Looks and feels like a quality item. Perfect for my camping exploits. Has a nice black bag supplied with it for stowage and transport. Covered 13amp plugs when not in use has got to be a good safety feature. Covered safety trip. Pole mounting possible with pole clips supplied already fitted in my case. Well made and seems robust. A valuable addition to my camping kit. It is as compact as possible but can be difficult if plugs are not shaped as standard owing to closeness of sockets and socket flaps.

I have now used this product several times and it has proved to be very reliable. The components are all of high quality, from the very visible cord to the three sockets with trip switch control.
Only downsides are that you really need to find a bag or box to store / carry it in (it is really quite heavy) and large plugs / adapters can be a little tricky, but not impossible to fit in. On the latter point, it would have been better if the sockets had been installed a further 90 degrees around. This way, the leads from each socket would not all go over each other and the flaps of the lower two sockets would not be restricted by the flaps, plugs and leads of the socket above. This is a simple design change that would make the product much easier to use - really not sure why the manufacturer didn't do this in the first place. May be a reason I am missing! However, in practice, this inconvenience has never been a problem and with nothing else on the market, I would make the same purchase again at this price, from this supplier.

Its has a really long lead which makes its easy to position or connect to if the on site elec is far away. The cable is very strong so it feels durable and will not damage easily which is great if you have a long run and it will get walked on. The sockets are fine but some plug shape can make it busy and difficult to fit all plugs together. Its wonder they do not distribute the sockets on both sides rather that one, which would make it perfect.

I had previously ran an ordinary extension lead in my garden shed but this did not give me the protection of an ELB or MCB. The great thing about this is that it has them both included in the unit so if anything goes wrong it cuts out and keeps you safe. Would work well for its intended propose if to are camping as the unit comes with a clip to attach to internal tent pole. or to put main electrics in a van or camper

Really nice bit of kit - quite big and heavy but really durable.
The end just plugs straight into the hook up point on the campsite. It has built in RCD thing which makes me feel much safer about having electricity lying around on a wet floor!
Allowed us to plug in frige and hairdryer and phone charger all at same time - perfect harmony in our tent!

Good length, very easy to use, it clips onto any metal/plastic poles so I attach it to my folding Mitch table leg to keep it off the ground. I don't know why others have struggled bit I can easily use 4 standard plugs at a time with no problems. Very happy and would recommend to anyone who enjoys camping with a few mod fons!

Bought this device prior to first use of an electric hook up on a camp site. Cable was more than long enough. Some reviewers said that the middle socket is limited - I probably agree, but used the middle socket for charging phones and iPads and plugs fitted (just) perfectly. The other two sockets are easily accessible. I liked the 'hanging' feature which will allow the kit to be hung up off the ground, away from any potential damp.

After spending some time considering which product to buy and after reading reviews I chose the Crusader Mobile Mains Triple Socket Kit. Arrived the next day after ordering. Great product and 20 metres of cable allows you to use electric if your pitch is a bit further away from the electricity point. We would go camping without this now.

Highly recommend this. Long length and works a treat. Only niggle (safety first though) if you boil a kettle and have an electric heater, turn the heater off until the kettle has boiled otherwise it will trip. All in all sturdy and reliable.

Just got back from 2 weeks' holiday using this product. Had no problems with it, and had no problems plugging in 3 plugs at once as seems to be a problem with some similar products. Additionally, this has a light which tells you if the live and neutral are reversed (doesn't say this in the specs, I don't think) so you don't need to buy a socket tester as well. We already had bought one unfortunately. This feature worked correctly too, as reversed polarity was the case on the campsite.

I bought this for a 6 wk long camping trip to France. It has the standard uk fititng, a few european sites still have continental style fittings for which an adapter can be bought, so worth checking if you know were you will be staying. I took an extenstion cable "just in case" and was glad I did because although this has three plug sockets they should be the other way on. If you have large, bulky rigid plugs (like most phone chargers etc) they get in the way of each other, the plug sockets would be better turned 45 degrees. A lovely long cable....an essential if travelling in europe as sometimes electric points are a long way from your pitch so dont skimp on the cable length! impossible to get back into the box it came in. Did the job and I didnt worry at all about the dew/occasional rainfall unlike some of the homemade style appliances I saw. Great buy, just try out what you intend to plug in before you go and if they dont fit take an adapter or extension lead

I'm soooo pleased I bought this electric hook up, it was fantastic, most of the plugs I wanted to use fitted in 3 at a time, there was one that wouldn't fit in the middle but I just swapped the plugs around and that solved the prob. I'd always been a non electric camper but decided this year as our daughter was on her own and might get fed up that if we had electric we could take mobile phones and I pads, not that these got used at all but it was a treat to take my hair dryer and straightners, a fan and an electric cool box, Woop Woop it made the camping trip much better and it seemed a treat to have cold beer and tidy hair, lol, spoilt!

This is the first time we have camped with an electric hookup, and we very pleased with how this worked.
No issues with anything we plugged into it, from Phone, DSi, DVD, lights all with the fridge running 24 hours a day.
Only thing I would say is there is no mention of the length in the product description, and although it appears to be about 20 metres this is not always long enough for some sites.

As per other reviews, the orientation of the 3 sockets is not ideal but with some planning all 3 are useable (this will depend on the plugs being used however). Other than that, the product is tough, well made and importantly has all the safety features required for camping EHU. Much heavier than what I was expecting but a price worth paying to be safe.

This unit is as described, it worked very well and supported quite happily a toaster, kettle and heater with no problems (Didn't try it with all on at the same time). The reasons I didn't give it 5 stars are the design is for vertical mounting but in our tent we had no were to mount it (It clips to a pole or hangs) as it was not free standing so as a result the cabling was a bit messy. I may modify it a bit to suit our set up. If it had come with a base to allow free standing then it would have got 5 stars... but then it would also have been more expensive.

Bought this for our first camping trip using an EHU. It was fantastic. Easy to use, safe, you can hang it up, good long lead, no problems with 3 days of solid rain on our trip. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's quite heavy and bulky.

This cable does exactly what it's supposed to. Cable is a decent length (although half of the campsites we visited in France required a european adaptor - so get one if you plan to go abroad). My only real gripe is that the three sockets could do with rotating 90° so they are side by side rather than one above the other (some chargers are too bulky to use all three plugs at the same time).
Comes with a useful carry bag too.

This was ideal for recent camping trip. Table top fridge plugged in all time and various other gadgets i.e. kettle, toaster phone and game chargers were plugged in at different times. We bought this for camping and it's changed our camping experience totally. Being able to charge phones, laptops etc when away for any period makes life so much more pleasant.
The long cord is great and very handy if you are pitching slightly away from the on-site power points. I agree with the other reviews that having all the sockets orientated facing down the unit could potentially make it difficult fitting three large, moulded plugs. However, for us we've not had any problems plugging in three different items so I've given it 5 stars. I went for this one specifically because it has the built-in circuit breaker which when teamed up with the one found on most campsite power points gives you added peace of mind.
Does a great job and is now one of the first things put into the back of the car when heading off to the "wilds".

Bought one of these off Amazon for a great price and went glamping over Easter. Hook up is excellent, all the necessary safety featuresand easy to use. The 20m cable is excellent for most campsite hook up points and the fact that it came with its own carrying bag was a great bonus. The unit survived very heavy constant rain with no issues at all and should be of great use for years to come thanks to the great build quality

Kind of obviously, this unit is required to take on camping trips and it came branded as Suncamp. I like having three external-type plugs and the safety of the trip. I've seen these used by other happy campers and I've no doubt that the unit will prove good for us.

We have just started camping and going through the usual thing of needing to buy everything. We purchased the Crusader 240v Electrical Hook-up so that we could have light in the tent as well as our teenage daughter being able to use her hair dryer/straighteners. We have only used it on one occasion so far but found it to be excellent quality. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Just what we needed for a bit of luxury when camping. We mainlyuse this to charge our phones and run the electric coolbox, however we have also used it with a small electric heater to warm the tent on a cold night.
The lead has been plenty long enough to reach the power points every time we have camped. We always make sure that the sockets are kept off the ground and we hang it up. Do not be tempted to buy the cheaper ones from ebay, they may not be as safe as this one. You would not want to put yours and your family's lives at risk.

This is a really good product, very long lead which is very durable and solid. Hook on unit to hang up and light to see if the electricity is coming through. It really is great, used it for a small fridge, lights, hair dryer, kettle and portable dvd. Really lets you have the extras to make camping a little more civilised! Some reviews said the sockets were too close together for some plugs but all mine fitted on ok.

I remember camping as a miserable, wet, cold experience but no longer. Bought a big nice tent and with electric it transformed the experience altogether.
This is big enough to take 3 plugs at a time, there is a watertight seal around the plug caps, a LED to indicate when it is connected.
The lead is extremely durable and actually quite heavy but this is a plus.
We used it for a full size oil filled heater running all night to keep tent cozy, kettle, iron, hair straighteners, powered cool box, lamp, dvd player, phone charger, laptop charger!!!
I know it is not proper camping but so what, for £2-3 a night for elec why suffer?
Only downside with this product was a rattle - I unscrewed the unit to find a bit of metal loose, it doesn't look as though it came from anything as the wires were tight so I threw t away and sealed it back up - a previous reviewer mentions this too.
If you are looking to buy EHU get this one as the lead is slightly longer than most, it is fused with a test function, the sockets are better spaced apart to fit more plugs and I have used it looking at safety as paramount as I took out little 3 year old camping with us.

This was a very worthwhile purchase. We went camping recently and the 20m cable was more than ample. The main reason we bought this was for the RCD unit. I can't believe some companies are selling electric hook-ups without RCD's! Safety has got to be top priority - especially when there are young kids around.

Seems to be a new design with sockets above each other rather than alongside. No problem plugging in adapters. Great to be able to go camping and charge up phones etc. and play iPad games with the kids in the tent. Plenty of cable and a storage bag, just plug in to hookup point and run cable in to tent, job done. Recommended item if you are camping with electronic items that need charging.

We bought this for our first camping holiday. It's a great product and worked fine. It has a nice long cable for reaching the power point at the camp site and a little metal handle comes out so you can hang it off the ground if you wanted. I would recommend this as I can't work out what the more expensive ones do that this one doesn't.

On the positive side, it came quickly, had a good long strong cable and worked well and we felt it was robust and safe. My complaints were the box arrived damaged so unable to repack after using it and we found it difficult to use all three sockets at the same time due to the socket covers hampering the space for the plugs to insert. I also agree with other reviews that it does seem a pricey for what it is.

Excellant product. Wanted to purchase the correct mains unit as a lot of camp sites won't allow you to use the lower rated ones. At the end of the day it is you family's safety at risk. Good length cable and the 3 plugs points are useful. If like me you like your creature comforts, then you can plug in the kettle, watch TV and charge you phone. Comes in a sturdy carry case so won't get damaged in transit.

It was fine in most ways but the unit should have been longer so there was more space for each plug as you could not put in three plugs as the cable of the middle plug got in the way of the bottom plug.

This is good quality product. My family have used it for three camping holidays. There is an RCD (circuit breaker) which switches off the electric supply in the event of any electrical problem and can be easily reset with the toggle switch. The three pin plug fits the standard camp site electrical outlets in the UK. There are three socket outlets which take 13amp electric plugs so you can use electric appliances from your home in the UK. We also use a low voltage camping refrigerator with a serparate coleman/campinggaz AC/DC tranformer (UK) which is fitted with a 13amp plug.

We got this for a 4 night camp - needed to keep a "cooler" going for the essentials (milk, butter, wine !).
As the tent was a bit away from the power point the 20 metres was useful. It also survived being walked over by various people taking shortcuts.
Powered the cooler no problem and allowed us to run phone chargers and so on. No problems in rain (it rained for a few hours one day).
