Protective Covers
This will depend which chassis is fitted to your van, I think in 2001 they were using BPW chassis on Elddis Caravans. If it is a BPW chassis then you need to remove the plastic cowling off the hitch, remove the hitch or caravan stabiliser by removing the 2 bolts, you will then need to remove the bolt securing the shaft of the damper at the back of the hitch assembly, this should be a M10 nut. You then pull the damper out through the front of the hitch tube.
To fit the new one you follow these instructions in reverse, you will need to compress the damper by pushing into the draw bar tube using a tube or bit of pipe so you can locate the hitch bolt back through the eye at the end of the damper, you will need to do this with hitch in position so you can put the bolt through the hitch and the eye on the end of the damper in one go, it is easier to use a screwdriver instead of the bolt to locate everything and then push the bolt through. Hope this makes sense, the only difficult bit is pushing the damper back in to locate the bolt, check all the bolts are still tight after the first 30 miles of use.
You will need to phone 08444770776 if you would like to order the damper
