Protective Covers
The brake drum is held on by a 0ne-shot nut which is tightened to 290 newton metres. You will need a substantial spanner to remove and a proper torque wrench to re-tighten. The circlip that you mention is possibly the one holding the bearings into the hub and should not be removed. This is normally a workshop job. NOTE. the large nut must be re-newed when replacing.
