Caravan and motorhome sink waste disposal systems are slightly different from standard, 50mm household wastes. While these wastes may match your requirements for an undrilled shower base, chances are they won't fit your stainless-steel sink, which comes with predrilled holes.
Our list of sink fittings for caravans and motorhomes features three styles, which are not interchangeable. These are generally two-piece systems. The first piece is fitted from the top with a small amount of silicone under the leap to create a seal and prevent leakage. As for the second piece, it must be screwed by hand from underneath.

90 Degree Waste for 45mm Hole
Some sinks use wastes with a 45mm diameter. These are fitted to a 25mm ID hose. Their name comes from the fact they are only available with an angled outline. These systems come with grate and plug.
SMEV Waste for 40mm Hole
Dometic SMEV sinks are in a league of their own. Not only are they very popular and high-quality products, but they also use a different waste size, namely 40mm. Every SMEV sink comes with a straight waste. It connects to a 25mm ID hose. But unlike other motorhome sink wastes, they do not need silicone. Also, from above, they look as though they're made entirely from stainless steel. These too include the grate and plug.
Standard 25mm Waste for 35mm Hole
The 25mm motorhome sink waste can be straight or angled. It doesn't come with a matching 25mm plug, which must be purchased separately. We recommend the 25mm PVC black hose for this type of waste. It's an excellent internal drain hose because it matches most sink fittings for caravans and works with them hand in glove.
We also stock the convoluted 25mm waste pipe hose, but we would only recommend these to professional plumbers. Fitting the 25mm barbs is hard work. Whether it winds up and down before exiting the floor doesn't affect the flow or pressure of the water, but it may prevent foul smells from travelling along the pipe, much like a smell trap.
Whatever type of caravan and motorhome sink waste you use, remember to allow access to the waste fittings, in case they need to be removed or unblocked. A hose clamp at the top and a 25mm PVC joiner are optional but very useful sink fittings for caravans and motorhomes that enable you to make the most of these waste systems.
