I had been in the habit of simply looping the breakaway cable to the towbar assembly (i.e. clipping it in a loop to itself). This led to abrasion of the cable. I bought this product to solve the problem. I'm happy to say, it works! It is in-obtrusive and makes clipping the cable on and off straightforward.
