2 FAQs on the Propex Malaga 5E Gas/Electric Water Heater

I am completely revamping my Motor Home and would like to put in a water heater Gas/el I would like some advice please. At the moment I have a heater unit that only heats up when the engine is working. Works Ok but in the morning the water is cold. I have got good water pumps one for Hot and one for Cold to work the shower unit and one for the drinking water.
In your case we would normally fit a Malaga 4E water heater. This will heat up quickly with both gas and electric and should provide sufficient hot water for your needs.
Hello. I want to fit a water heater into living van. I have 12v leisure batteries and propane but no mains supply. Do you have a water heater that I could use this for a shower? If so what pump would I need to go with it? Thanks. Jon.
I would suggest Propex Malaga water heater with a Shurflo pump, probably our ref. 127893

Replacing Water Heater

by Phil Coveney (21 Dec 2018)
4 star review(4/5)
I needed to replace an old Truma gas only water heater in our 1991 Burstner Camper as the parts were either not available due to age or hard to come by here in Spain. The cost to replace the parts I needed did not make sense what would I need to replace next and would it be available ? So a new unit then The Propex Malaga 5 offered all we needed gas and electric only 750 watts perfect as we run a small generator sometimes on sites that do not have electricity. The water capacity is higher than most other more expensive units another plus. The unit is easy to fit well within the average DIY capability, although gas connection should be done by a qualified person. The price was also a good plus. The only negative was that the front mounting bracket could be better designed so that the unit was supported on both sides not just one

Can't review product as not yet fitted, however, excellent service from the company. Item arrived 2 days after order. Unfortunately, the outer vent cover was damaged, despite the packaging showing no sign of damage. But after a phone call to the company, a new one arrived within 2 working days. Thank you very much. Excellent service. Just hope the unit works as well!
