The Dometic TropiCool TCX 35 is a highly efficient, energy-saving thermoelectric cooler in a fresh new design. Boasting many of the benefits of the popular Dometic TropiCool series such as mobility, performance and convenience. A compact, efficient and lightweight cooler to take wherever you go!

Fresh design with soft-touch controls and a digital display – these are the hallmarks of the Dometic TropiCool series. What’s more, the popular high-tech coolers feature a lot of inner values: intelligent
power-save circuit, individually adjustable temperature, cooling performance up to 30 °C below the ambient temperature. If desired, the convenient units can also take care of keeping food
warm: activating the heating function supplies temperatures of up to +65 °C.

The Technical Bit
A concentrated ammonia solution is heated in a boiler and expelled as vapour. The pressurised ammonia gas is then liquefied in a condenser. Supplied with hydrogen, it evaporates and in the process extracts heat from the storage container. The ammonia gas then enters the absorber where it is reabsorbed in a weak solution of ammonia. Finally, the saturated solution flows back to the boiler where the whole cycle starts again.

The Technical Bit

Thermoelectrics are based on the fact that cold or heat energy (depending on the polarity) is generated when a DC current is conducted between different types of metal. The heating or cooling capacity is further enhanced by heat exchangers and air fans. Ideal for low and medium cooling volumes.

The Technical Bit
Compressor units operate using a refrigerant that changes from liquid to gaseous state in the evaporator. The evaporation extracts heat from the interior of the cooling unit – the temperature drops. The compressor draws in the refrigerant, compresses it and passes it on to the condenser. Here, the absorbed heat is released to the atmosphere. The refrigerant liquefies again and flows to the evaporator, where the cycle begins again.

Great for in my lorry, as I'm away all week. Battery saver was a big attraction. I can just leave it pluged in and know I will have enough battery power to start in the morning. The 21L the smaller size may have been big enough?

This is an excellent cool box. Professional in its operation but beware this is big and takes up a lot of boot space. However has served well on holiday trips allowing contents of fridge to be transferred. Comes with house and car cables so can get to chill temp before putting in car.

Three cables so power from car, boat or house runs this fridge. Heavy when full so install then fill with items to chill. Apparently it also can warm but I have not used this facility.

The best portable fridge I have had. It's got a good capacity and chills evenly all the way around the compartment without freezing even after a week of running in the lorry. I would recommend this to anyone doing a week away or odd nights out. It is a fair size but it will fit quite well in the footwell of most trucks, I think I struggled a bit with an older Renault but it went on the seat no problem.

Lovely BIG chiller box. It's bigger than I thought even after measuring before ordering. It does cool stuff down nicely. Plenty of room for water bottles and food. I leave it running in the house on 230V mains the night before we travel then load it up in the car so it's nice and cool already without having to work too hard to get down to temp. It's as good as a home fridge without doubt and very quiet too. Good buy and would recommend but remember it's big.

The fridge is absolutely ideal. It is well worth the money. it is convenient and easy to use. The fridge was brought for my truck as i can be away from home most of the week, so therefore can now take provisions to last. I would gladly recommend the Waeco Tropicool 35litre.
