Isabella Storm Strap and Peg (heavy duty stake). Stabilises the awning in strong winds and prevents wear on the canvas.

These heavy storm straps can be fitted inside/outside the awning and are suitable for use with other makes of awning.

5 USEFUL PIECES OF ADVICE FOR WHEN STORMY WEATHER HITS

An Isabella awning rarely sustains damage in stormy weather if it is correctly tensioned and all the pegs are properly hammered into the ground. To ensure that your awning is as secure as possible before a storm, we recommend that you read these five specific tips on what to do before a storm hits.

HOW DO I STORM SECURE MY AWNING?

1. Purchase this storm-proofing kit for both corners and the middle (if you have the Penta model, you will need to buy five sets). A storm-proofing kit consists of a 40 cm metal peg and a strong storm band.

2. Mount the storm-proofing kit in the corners and in the middle, inside the awning. Five simple steps are all it takes:

Fasten the small storm band around both rafter poles.
Mount the long storm band in the hook of the small one.
Mount the other end of the long storm band in the eye of the peg.
Hammer the 40 cm metal peg into the ground.
Never fully tension the storm band. Let it remain slack, not pulling on the awning. This way, the storm-proofing kit will only come into play if the awning is about to “take off”.

3. Do NOT tension the storm guy strips without the Isalink storm tensioning bracket. The awning will lose its shape and the windows and awning stitching will be pulled into crooked positions. Instead, the ropes in the Isalink rubber strips should hang down loosely. The rubber strips will be tensioned when the wind blows against the awning.

4. To give your awning added stability, you can also install additional rafter poles, which are easy to mount using Isabella’s patented screwless FixOn brackets.

5. Use extra-long 30 cm pegs to give your awning additional stability.

I have owned a set of 3 since 2007 . 1st used on a Isabella awning - never had awning damage. Now used on an 'all seasons' awning. These are the best on the market & complete, you attach the strap to the frame not like the hideous storm straps that chafe the roof material The ground spikes are a tee section steel construction (get a lump hammer ) not pressed steel (which bend & rust after only a few times in use ). Have peace of mind when using your awning in any weather!

Good quality as you would expect from an Isabella Storm Strap and Peg, however, take note this is a single strap and peg and you will need two if you are to have a set and that means they are not cheap! Can be used inside the awning so they don't make a trip hazard or look like you're fearing the worst... Arrived promptly.

Isabella Storm Straps are a must for our new awning as we use our awning year round and our old ones we starting to fray. They are very strong, easy to fit, and do not chaff or pull the awning out of shape. You mount them around the poles of the awning not the fabric and you can fit them inside or out as you prefer. The straps come with a good well designed anchor point to ensure they stay secure. The leisureshop price for them is best I could find, they were £10 for the pair cheaper than my local dealer even after P&P

Excellent product - keeps awning stable in the stormiest weather as we proved recently in Devon when many other awnings were damaged or taken down due to strong winds. Easy and fast to use BUT ensure you follow instructions on Isabella web site to attach correctly to awning frame. Leisure Direct are cheapest on web - better value than recent 2nd hand ones on EBay! Fast delivery too!

I have used this product for the last 5 years to secure my sun canopy which we always use in Spain. Our new caravan is permanently pitched in Andalusia and we needed two more straps as our new canopy is 7 .5 metres long. We frequently experience strong violent winds and using five of these straps the canopy is very secure. Highly recommended providing the pegs are driven deeply into the ground at the right angle and the straps are tightened and checked regularly.
