Caravan rooflights owners who take regular breaks in the UK will be delighted to hear that the English tourism product has improved dramatically in the last 15 years.
According to VisitEngland, the depth and richness of the tourism product offered by England is far better now than in the past.
However, James Berresford, chief executive officer VisitEngland, said: "Some of our experiences are [good], but some of them perhaps need development. Not everybody agrees with me on this, but we do have to sell to our strengths."
A recent VisitBritain report found that touring Welsh castles, visiting Buckingham Palace and staying the night in a Scottish castle rated very highly for foreign visitors coming to the UK.
Mr Berresford noted that UK residents were also finding that England has a lot to offer and they are "certainly going to be easily swayed in future" to take a staycation.
London is currently preparing for one of its busiest years for major sporting events for more than a decade with a number of world-class sporting events taking place during 2011.
