Touring caravans are used as remote checkpoints on Exmoor during the Startrek Challenge organised by the Rotary Club of Ilfracombe. This is the ideal situation to use your 12 volt television. In the most beautiful parts of the Country it is unlikely that you will find mains electricity and this is where your 12v TV comes into its own. These TVs draw very little power from your battery and the new flat screen technology provides excellent picture quality. The Startrek challenge involves a 16 mile walk on Exmoor at night when orienteering skills are paramount. 82 teams of up to six members took part on the weekend of March 3rd/4th raising over £45000 for local charities including the adult and childrens' Hospices. The 2013 event will take place on the first weekend in March 2013 and application forms are now available.
