Caravan spare parts

How do I find the Caravan spare parts I need urgently?

Every time we venture out in the caravan or motorhome, no matter how slowly we drive, how often we tell children to close fridge and cupboard doors gently or not to push the windows open so forcefully, there is always a bit of wear and tear. There is no doubt that grandchildren and pets bring along a lot more excitement and fun times to create those wonderful memories we all cherish, but they are definitely not as respectful of the beloved home away from home as we are! A dripping shower head or tap, a loose kitchen cupboard door that rattles as you drive along, a fridge door that has been slammed once too often so swings open and needs a new catch………..all very minor problems but these can weigh heavily on the mind of a proud caravan or motorhome owner. Here at Leisureshopdirect we have over 30,000 caravan spare parts and motorhome spare parts to help you maintain your van in tip top shape and not allow it to accumulate those annoying war wounds! At Leisureshopdirect, we think restoring, renovating and re-purposing is just as important as complete replacement of caravan items, which is why we stock so many competitively priced caravan spare parts. We do our upmost to stock good quality, reliable items at prices that won’t break the bank and avoid you buying the whole new cooker, fridge or shower. Now you have found Leisureshopdirect relax……….you can easily find all the spare parts you need, Caravan accessories.

So which caravan spare parts are you in search of? Need a replacement bulb for your fridge? Perhaps some hooks for your new motorhome curtains? A replacement O ring for your water pump? Or a lip seal for your Thetford cassette toilet? At Leisureshopdirect we know that finding the smallest motorhome spares can be just as important as purchasing larger accessories. Some are very easy to identify and find but others are very difficult to name let alone find the actual caravan spare parts online. So here on Leisureshopdirect we have made this process as simple as possible to help you get your pride and joy in tip top shape asap! First of all you will need to visit our Caravan spares page or Motorhome spares page and identify the brand (Dometic, Thetford, Isabella, Truma, Smev, Spinflo, Thule, Fiamma or Alde) of the broken appliance that needs a new part. For arguments sake let us decide you have a Dometic RM8401 refrigerator with a broken door hinge. When driving around you will find it swings open constantly or when shutting it, the door bounces back open…..very inconvenient, especially if the fridge is filled with expensive BBQ meat or other yummy foods! So you would need to click on the Dometic icon on this page and Leisureshopdirect will present a list of all the categories of Dometic items we sell………there is a screen snapshot below to help you do this. With our current broken RM8401 refrigerator door hinge we would click on the ‘Dometic Caravan Refrigerator’ category.

Dometic Fridge Spare Parts
We have focussed on a Dometic item, because they are the most complicated to find. For other appliances like Truma or Thetford you can ignore the next section, describing how to find product numbers.

Finding your Dometic product number

Every Dometic product has a unique product number associated with it. Every time Dometic change a characteristic (colour, design of a certain part like a door handle) they give the model a new product number, e.g if dometic decided to give the RM8401 a different shaped door handle it would keep the same model number (RM8401), but have a new product number. All dometic fridges have a product number that starts with 921 and is usually 9 characters long, but other Dometic appliances differ. This means that there are literally thousands of product numbers and if you don’t know yours, finding the exact piece you need will be very confusing. Don’t panic because we are here to help! The product number can be found on the metal/silver plate inside your appliance……an example is shown in the picture below. This is often behind the vegetable bin at the bottom of the fridge, but not in all models so be ready to have a good scrabble around. Without the product number and just using the model number, you may not receive the correct design of the spare part you are seeking.
Finding your Dometic product number
So after finding the Dometic product number of your RM8401 fridge, which say for example is 921712168, you insert these details into the Leisureshopdirect drop down that appears when you clicked on ‘Dometic Caravan Refrigerator’ from the Dometic list. Next click on ‘view exploded diagrams’ and some small icons (buttons) will appear which are representative of your exact fridge (see above for this screenshot). In the case of the RM8401 there are 4……….’door’, ‘cooling unit’, ‘cabinet and fittings’ and ‘control equipment’. In this case because you are looking for a door hinge which is located on the cabinet of the fridge you would click on the ‘cabinet and fittings’ exploded diagram icon.

So once you have the correct exploded diagram in front of you, it is really easy to see the part you need. Even if you do not know the name of it, it is simple because there are identification numbers next to all of the caravan spare parts and the table next to the exploded diagram (if you are using a tablet or mobile phone, this table is replaced by a dropdown) allows you to match it up with a Leisureshopdirect product reference number, along- side an add to shopping cart button. See below for a screenshot to make this all clear.

Exploded view diagrams are pictures or technical drawings of objects or parts of your caravan or motorhome, that expose the structure of the item, how the parts fit together and how the parts relate to one another spatially. It separates the various parts of an item so that each part can be seen clearly. Exploded diagrams, therefore also make it easier for you to find the spare part or replacement part to your caravan fridge, caravan toilet, caravan oven or even bike rack. Fixing your own fridge or other appliance can save you a great deal of money as caravan workshops can often charge a significant sum to fix the easiest of things.

From bike racks, towing mirrors, motorhome water heaters and 12v Lighting, through to Dometic air conditioning units and even Dometic coolboxes and roof lights, now you’ve found us you can relax – we stock thousands of spare parts for these items! Not only do our hard working team find out solutions to your technical problems by email, we also have a Caravan and Motorhome Technical Questions section, which has detail answers to many of the problems you may encounter with your motorhome or caravan.
