Drivers and those who own a Truma caravan water heater should take good care of their vehicles, according to a new book.
Caring for your Car: How to Maintain and Service your Car, published by Veloce Publishing, in association with the RAC, shows car owners how to maintain their vehicle without needing to go to a garage or servicing centre.
The book sets out to give drivers top tips about keeping a vehicle safe in all conditions
Author Trevor Fry, a car enthusiast since owning his first Morris in 1964, has given a step-by-step, easy-to-follow guide to show motorists how to keep a car running well.
He said that by repairing a vehicle first-hand, drivers can significantly reduce the cost of service repairs and MOTs.
The book is aimed at drivers who want to do basic car servicing without having to get relevant training and includes chapters on oil, brakes, tyres, transmissions and electrics.
As of 2012, the MOT test is become stricter under new EU regulations.
The test will address repairs to electronic stability control systems, which have previously been missed by the annual servicing.
